Hotel Administration Diploma
This diploma program is designed for the learner to acquire the competencies and knowledge required to be fully operational across multiple departments of a hotel with a focus on administrative duties following first-class hospitality
Students graduating from this program will have the capacity to successfully work independently in the Front-Office and Housekeeping Departments and be well-equipped to enter the industry and reach a supervisory position in a short period of time. The graduate will also be well-positioned for an administrative role within the management team of a hospitality operation. The course content is benchmarked on the Swiss vocational competency framework for cooks.
Credits: 60 credits US (20 credits US per term).
Graduates of the Hotel Administration Diploma will be proficient in the following activities and will be distinguished by the following behaviors:
1. As hosts, they welcome guests according to an establishment’s guidelines and they ensure that a hospitable customer experience is delivered.
2. They think and act in accordance with the hotel’s management, are host oriented and team oriented.
3. They are aware of the importance of cleanliness, maintenance and laundry work as well as organizational tasks, including logistics for all back-of the-house activities.
4. They can effectively use a property management system. They can make reservations, perform check-ins and check-outs, establish bills and collect revenue.
5. They master the principles of hygiene and occupational safety. They ensure that the value of premises, installations and appliances are preserved, and that energy and equipment are used economically.
6. They prepare the food & beverage service, both in the daily service and for events and they advise customers on appropriate beverages.
Three Certificate grades comprised of the skills necessary in order to become a Hotel administration professional. Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced. Do you have what it takes to run administration professionally.
Focused on Rooms and Service, students will acquire the fundamental hospitality based skills necessary for working in a hotel.
An introduction to Office tools and a 3-month internship will help ensure the learner is work-ready upon completion of the certificate.
After having acquired the fundamentals in hotel operations, the student will be introduced to administrative courses designed to teach the skills needed to execute planning resources in an operational setting.
A 3-month internship in an administrative department in the hospitality setting will allow the leaner to immediately put into practice they theoretical skills they learned in the classroom.
After a full year of experience, the advanced certificate delivers the competencies needed for the learner to take on a supervisory role.
This program will introduce the basics of accounting and law in a hospitality setting and will conclude with a 3-month internship.
